Getting Around Beckenham with Your Pet
Not every minicab firm is keen on paws in the back. We get it. But pets are family, and sometimes a bus or train just won't work, especially with a nervous dog or a heavy carrier.
That's why we ask about your pet when you book. Size, number of animals, whether they travel in a carrier or on a lead. It takes a minute, and it means the car that turns up is the right one.
Trips Pet Owners Book Most
Vet appointments
Vet visits are the big one. A poorly dog on a lead or a cat in a carrier is far easier to manage in a car than on public transport, and we can collect you again when the appointment is over.
Parks and days out
Beckenham is lucky with green space. Kelsey Park, Beckenham Place Park and the wide lawns of Crystal Palace Park are all a short drive away, and a change of scene does an older dog a world of good.
Kennels, groomers and moving house
We also take pets to kennels and catteries before a holiday, to the groomer, and to a new home on moving day.
Tell Us About Your Pet When You Book
A few details help us plan.
- What kind of pet, and roughly how big
- Whether they travel in a carrier, a crate or on a lead
- How many people and pets are travelling
- Any bags, bedding or equipment coming along
Choosing the Right Car
A cat in a carrier fits fine in a saloon. A large dog, or a dog plus a family, is often happier in an estate, which gives more room in the back. If the whole household is coming, a 6 seater taxi gives everyone space without a squeeze.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs travel at no extra charge, as UK law requires. Let us know when you book that an assistance dog is travelling with you, and we'll note it on the booking.
Tips for a Calm Ride
A short walk before the journey helps a lot. Bring a blanket or towel for your dog to lie on and pack some water for longer trips. Nervous animals often settle better when their owner sits close by.
The Highway Code asks for animals to be suitably restrained in vehicles, so pets travel on a lead, in a carrier or in a crate.
Longer Journeys with Pets
Moving further afield or heading off on a staycation with the dog? We take passengers to any part of the UK. For bigger trips with pets and luggage, call 020 3874 0223 so we can talk through the right vehicle. Closer to home, see the areas we cover, including Penge and Crystal Palace.
Pet Friendly Taxi FAQs
Do all your cars take pets?
We ask about your pet at booking so we can send a car and driver suited to your trip. Always mention pets when you book rather than on the day.
Can I take my cat to the vet in a taxi?
Yes. Cats in a secure carrier travel easily in a saloon, and we can bring you home afterwards too.
Are assistance dogs charged extra?
No. Assistance dogs travel at no extra charge.
Where does my dog sit?
Pets travel on a lead, in a carrier or in a crate, as the Highway Code asks. A blanket from home helps them settle.
